Privacy Policy

1. Introduction and Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how L'Amore Vince ("L'Amore Vince," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use our websites, applications, and services (the "Services"). It applies to all users of the Services and forms part of our Terms of Service.

By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described here. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

2. Who We Are (Data Controller)

The Services are operated by L'Amore Vince, which is in the process of incorporating in the State of Delaware, United States. L'Amore Vince and its successor Delaware entity are the controller responsible for your personal information.

3. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information.

Account data. Your name, date of birth, email address, phone number, Google account profile information (when you sign in with Google), profile photo, bio, interests, and personality questionnaire answers.

Verification data. Live camera captures taken at the daily check-in and during verification; liveness analysis results; facial consistency scores derived over time; and phone verification records.

Behavioral data. With your consent (see Section 6): page views, clicks, scroll depth, time on page, session duration, the time you spend on each onboarding step and each personality question, game interactions, round-advancement decisions and timing, and message-frequency patterns. We never log the content of your behavioral activity in a way that reads your private messages — message frequency and timing are recorded, never message content.

Device and technical data. A hashed (SHA-256) IP address — we never store your raw IP address; approximate location (city and region inferred from your IP address — never GPS coordinates); a hashed device fingerprint (we never store raw fingerprint signals); browser type, operating system, and referrer.

Inferred data. Probabilistic demographic characteristics inferred from patterns in your personality answers — for example, cultural background, regional identity, and (for users located in the United States only) a US racial category. These inferences are admin-only, never shown to you or other users, and are described further in Section 7.

Communications. Round 1 text messages, stored only for the duration of the connection. No audio or video from any round is recorded or stored.

Payment data. Transaction records (such as amounts, dates, and credit purchases). We do not store raw card or bank account numbers; payment credentials are handled by our payment processors.

4. Legal Bases for Processing

Although we are primarily based in the United States, where the General Data Protection Regulation or similar laws apply, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Services you request); consent (for behavioral analytics and, where required, certain other processing, which you may withdraw at any time); legitimate interests (to secure the Services, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve the product, balanced against your rights); and legal obligation (to comply with applicable law).

5. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide matching and operate connections through the rounds.
  • Verify identity, confirm a live and consistent person, and prevent fraud and abuse.
  • Maintain safety, enforce our Terms and Community Guidelines, and respond to reports.
  • Analyze and improve the Services (subject to your analytics consent).
  • Process credits and transactions and provide support.
  • Send transactional messages (such as match alerts, credit-expiry reminders, and event notices).
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

6. Behavioral Analytics and Your Choice

Behavioral analytics are governed by your "Help improve my matches" consent setting, which you can turn off at any time in your profile.

When the setting is on, we collect the behavioral data described in Section 3 to improve matching and the product. To protect this data: your raw IP address is never stored (only a salted SHA-256 hash), and your device fingerprint is never stored raw (only a SHA-256 hash of coarse signals such as user agent, screen size, time zone, and language).

When you turn the setting off, all behavioral tracking stops immediately and no further behavioral events are recorded. Turning it off does not change your ability to use the Services. Deleting your account permanently erases your behavioral event records.

7. Inferred Demographic Profiling

We infer probabilistic demographic characteristics from patterns in your personality answers — including cultural background and regional identity, and, for users located in the United States only, a US racial category. You should understand that:

  • These are statistical estimates, not verified facts, and may be wrong.
  • They are admin-only and are never shown to you or to any other user.
  • They are used only to improve matching quality and for aggregate, internal research.
  • The US racial category is a US-specific construct and is inferred only for users whose location is detected as the United States.

8. Facial and Biometric Data

We take facial data seriously and limit it to safety and verification.

What is captured. A live camera image at the daily check-in and during verification steps.

What is derived. Liveness results (whether a real, live person is present) and facial consistency scores (whether the person checking in is consistent with the account over time). Scores are derived data, not stored raw biometric templates for identification of strangers.

How it is used. Only for liveness verification, facial consistency, anti-impersonation, and fraud prevention. We do not sell facial or biometric data, share it for advertising, or use it to build general facial-recognition databases.

Retention. Check-in images are kept on a 30-day rolling window; derived consistency scores are kept for the life of your account and deleted when your account is deleted, except where retention is required by law.

State-specific rights. If you are covered by the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA), the Texas Capture or Use of Biometric Identifier Act (CUBI), the Washington My Health My Data Act, or the California Consumer Privacy Act/California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), you have additional rights regarding biometric and sensitive information, including disclosure, deletion, and limits on use. We collect and use this data only with your consent to use the Services and only for the verification purposes described above. To exercise these rights, contact support@lamorevince.com.

9. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows.

Service providers that process data on our behalf under contractual protections, including: Amazon Web Services and Supabase (hosting and data infrastructure), Clerk (authentication), LiveKit (real-time audio and video), Twilio (communications and telephony), Google Cloud (authentication and infrastructure), OpenAI (text processing features), Postmark, Resend, and SendGrid (transactional email), and Sentry (error monitoring).

Law enforcement and legal compliance when required by law, valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the public, or the Company.

Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, with notice to affected users.

11. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; correct inaccurate information; delete your account and associated data; obtain a portable copy of certain data; and object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact support@lamorevince.com. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by law (generally within 30 days). You may also delete your account directly from your profile settings.

12. California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to: know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, use, and disclose; delete personal information, subject to exceptions; correct inaccurate personal information; opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — we do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA; and limit the use of sensitive personal information to what is necessary to provide the Services. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. To submit a request, email support@lamorevince.com; you may use an authorized agent where permitted.

13. Nevada Residents

Nevada residents have the right to opt out of the sale of certain personal information. We do not sell personal information. If you have questions, contact support@lamorevince.com.

14. Biometric Privacy (Illinois, Texas, Washington)

  • Illinois (BIPA): We obtain consent before collecting facial data, use it only for verification, do not sell or profit from it, and retain it only as described in Section 8.
  • Texas (CUBI): We capture biometric identifiers only with notice and consent, use them solely for verification, and do not sell them.
  • Washington (My Health My Data Act): To the extent any data is treated as consumer health data, we collect and process it only with consent and for the verification purposes described, and we honor applicable access and deletion rights.

15. Children

The Services are for users 18 and older. We do not direct the Services to children and do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact support@lamorevince.com and we will delete it and terminate the account.

16. International Users

The Services are operated from the United States, and your information will be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your jurisdiction.

17. Security

We use technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit (TLS), hashing of IP addresses and device fingerprints, database-level access controls and row-level security, restricted administrative access, and monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

18. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy, which is incorporated by reference.

19. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you through the Services or by email before they take effect. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
